What Payables Brief is
Payables Brief tracks what accounts payable automation software costs. Every vendor gets a cost record.
Where the vendor publishes prices on its own site, the record works out the monthly cost and the cost per invoice at 1,000, 5,000 and 25,000 invoices a month. It shows the assumptions behind each figure and keeps a dated change log.
Where the vendor publishes no prices, the record says quote only and shows what is known: the pricing model, any published payment fees, the ERP integrations and who the product is for.
Browse by invoice volume or by ERP, or work out your own figure in the cost per invoice calculator.
Who writes it
The Payables Brief desk writes and maintains every cost record, list, comparison and guide on this site.
Where the numbers come from
Every price comes from the vendor’s own website and carries the date it applies to. Marketplace listing prices appear separately and never feed a computed figure. Prices and estimates published by third parties are never used.
The pricing methodology sets out the volume tiers, the assumptions, and which costs are in and which are out.
Independence
Some vendors pay us to be included on Payables Brief. That payment never affects the rankings or the review itself.
A vendor can pay to have its real price list verified and carried on its record. Its cost is then computed with the same method as every other vendor, and the record is labelled “Paid listing”. The details are on how we make money.
Corrections
If a price, a fee or an integration on a record is wrong, email the URL of the record and a link to the vendor page that shows the correct figure. We check it, fix the record if it holds up, and log the change with its date. Earlier entries stay in the change log.
